Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau | Mai Chau 2 Days Tour

Depart Hanoi early morning for an approximately 4-hour drive to Mai Chau located about 150 km southwest of Hanoi. Stop for a little stroll at Hoa Binh city, drink Vietnamese coffee or taste some local food. Just after Hoa Binh city, the road weaves through mountains, fertile valleys and hill tribe villages.
Make a stop at the top of the Thung Khe Pass, observe the Muong people selling their homemade products to travelers to make living better. You can also take great photos of the spectacular view of Mai Chau Valley.
Arrive in the picturesque Mai Chau Valley surrounded by spectacular karst rock formations and rice paddies.
Have an authentic lunch with a local family.
Afternoon: Walking/biking around Mai Chau. Biking is one of the best ways to experience rural life in Mai Chau. Take in the rolling, from good single track paths, undulating rough jeep trails to some climbs that are rewarded with ultimate descents. Start the day with a homemade breakfast prepared by your host.
8.00 AM: Drive 35km to Pu Luong Nature Reserve to do trekking and explore the beautiful scenery of the mountains and stunning rice terraces.
We start easy trekking following the small roads through the terrace rice fields and cross the stream to visit remote rural villages of Black Thai Minorities to learn about the local people in Pu Luong.
Pu Luong’s mountains are covered with tropical rainforest, while the valley is a series of cultivated rice terraces. Take a walk along the valley floor or in the foothills to get up close with the area’s flora and fauna. Listen to the waterwheels and forest sounds, wave at farmers and grazing water buffalo, and snap pictures of the greenery and wildlife. Simply being in Pu Luong Nature Reserve is a breath of fresh air.
Driver picks up en-route to drive back to Mai Chau for lunch. After lunch, say goodbye to the beautiful Mai Chau. It is time to drive back to Hanoi, drop you off at your hotel at around 20.00.
