Public holidays in Vietnam are days when workers get the day off work. Vietnamese workers observed 9 days of public holiday a year as in most other nations, if a holiday falls during the weekend, it is observed on the following Monday.

Tet: Lunar New Year (the last day of the last lunar month and the first three days of the first lunar month) – four days off
March 10 (Lunar calendar): Hung Kings Commemoration – one day off
April 30: Reunification day – one day off
May 1: International labor’s day – one day off
September 2: Vietnam declares its independence from France – one day off
February 3: Communist Party of Viet Nam Foundation Anniversary
March 8: International Women’s Day
May 7: Dien Bien Phu Victory Day
May 19: President Ho Chi Minh’s Birthday
June 1: International Children’s Day
June 28: Vietnamese Family Day
July 27: Remembrance Day (Day for Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers)
August 19: August Revolution Commemoration Day
October 10: Hanoi Capital Liberation Day
October 20: Vietnamese Women’s Day
November 20: Vietnamese Teacher’s Day
December 22: National Defend Day (People’s Army of Viet Nam Foundation Anniversary)
December 25: Christmas Day
15/1 (lunar): Lantern Festival (Full moon of the 1st month)
15/4 (lunar): Buddha’s Birthday
5/5 (lunar): Mid-year Festival
15/7 (lunar): Ghost Festival
15/8 (lunar): Mid-Autumn Festival
