There are three main groups of attractions in Phu Quoc Island including attractions on the North, attractions on the South and attractions on the East of the island. (North Island – South Island – East Island).
Attractions in the North Island include Phu Quoc National Park, which owns beautiful beaches and wildlife sites such as North Island Nature Reserve, Ham Rong Mountain, Ganh Dau and Cua Can; Long Beach, the most beautiful beach in Phu Quoc with the beauty of blue sea, white sand, golden sun; Da Thoi stream, Da Ban stream, interesting with small streams of water flowing through the rocks to form waterfalls of many shapes, many elevation. The most famous attractions of the South Island in particular and Phu Quoc in general are Phu Quoc prison. The prison now no longer detains prisoners but is restored to a museum with cells, re-imagined torture, barbed wire fence, tiger barn … The prison is open from 8am to 11h30 and from 13h30 to 17h daily. Suoi Tranh is the beauty of the stream originating from Ham Ninh mountain ranges. You can get to Phu Quoc Island by planes or speed boats. Airlines to Phu Quoc includes Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Airlines, Vietjet Air; departure from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Can Tho and Rach Ra. It takes about two and a half hour from Hanoi, almost an hour from Ho Chi Minh.
Speed boats to Phu Quoc depart from Ha Tien and Rach Ra. The distance from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc is 45 km, speed boat takes 1 hour 15 minutes. From Rach Ra to Phu Quoc is 120km, speed boat takes 2 hours 45 minutes. However, time can be longer in bad weather conditions.
After arriving Phu Quoc you get taxi, motor taxi or private car service or rent a motorbike for travelling around to visit Phu Quoc tourist attractions. You can also bring your car/motorbike from main land to Phu Quoc by taking ferry from Ha Tien.
Because the climate in Phu Quoc is quite stable, you can travel to Phu Quoc in any seasons of the year. However, with our experience traveling to Phu Quoc island, we would suggest you to choose the period from October -> May next year. Because it is a dry season, less rainy so the blue sea and golden sunshine is very suitable for walking and taking pictures.
