DAY 2: SAPA – CAT CAT VILLAGE – FANSIPAN MT – NIGHT AT SAPA

08:30 – get picked up at hotel for short drive to the gate of Cat Cat Village which is home to Black H’mong ethnic people and is located near the bottom of a deep valley at the foot of Fansipan Peak.

Visit the village for its distinctive traditions and practices that have been lost in virtually cultural villages. It’s the closest and easiest hill tribe village in Sapa. The footpath to the village is amazing view. Just passing some sloop you will have chance to discover full this stunning village.

Drive back to Sapa for lunch at a local restaurant

After lunch, we take a short drive to Hoang Lien Cable Car Station at 1,650m above sea level – where you will start the journey to conquer Fansipan Peak – The Roof of Indochina – at 3,143m above sea level.

After 20 minutes, the cable car will bring you to Fansipan Station, from here you will need to climb 600 steps up to the peak or buy extra ticket for pull-train at spot (150,000 VND / pax / way).

Thanks to the Sun world Fansipan Legend Cable Car system, it only takes 20-30 minutes to get the roof of Indochina instead of trekking from 2-3 days like before, making Fansipan reachable by everyone yet saving time to explore interesting things around.

DAY 3: SAPA – MUONG HOA VALLEY TREKKING – NIGHT AT SAPA

8.30AM Meet up your local guide at the hotel and start trekking. The first part is on the road but we soon turn to the right and walk on a small path down the valley to Y Linh Ho village settled down by the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village of Lao Chai.

Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their traditions and way of living. They have their own language and wear traditional indigo blue clothing.

Continue to Ta Van village (1.200m) to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green color.

Have lunch at a home in the village with typical local food. After lunch the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. Take a rest nearby a waterfall to refresh. Then start climbing uphill to a road where the car is ready for your journey back to Sapa.

DAY 4: SAPA – BAC MA MARKET – HANOI – NIGHT AT HANOI

07:00 – get picked up at hotel then, we depart for 2,5-hour drives to Bac Ha market – Every Sunday, the different and colorful ethnic minority come all here to sell their homemade products or buy something for the family. They are Hmong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities can’t be met in any other areas. Free time for visiting one of the most colourful market in the world.

At the market, you have chance to enjoy Bac Ha people’s simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches… talking to the minorities through the guide’s interpretation.

Take short drive to discover the H’mong King’s palace (old building built by the French & Chinese).

In the afternoon, we go for a light trek to visit Ban Pho Village, the village is home to flower H’mong minority. We are invited to enter several local houses to have some green tea, corn wine, listen to the host talking about their family, talk to them… and then enjoy landscapes on a roundabout way to Bac Ha.

After lunch, we take 7 hours drive back to Hanoi

Note: Bac Ha Market is on Sunday only, you can also visit Can Cau market on Saturday which is very similar Bac Ha market

DAY 5: HANOI CITY TOUR – DEPARTURE

8.00 – 8.30: Get pick up at your hotel (at area of Hanoi Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake) to start for Hanoi city tour.

08:45 – visit Tran Quoc Pagoda – Tran Quoc pagoda is located on the east of the West Lake, built from the reign of King Ly Nam De.

09:30 – visit Ho Chi Minh Complex which features the life of Ho Chi Minh and the nation’s founder and resume visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the colonial Presidential Palace, originally the French Governor Office, the rural style Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts and Presidential Palace where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked. Stop by one of Hanoi’s icons, the One Pillar Pagoda, built in the 11th Century.

11:15 – visit Vietnam Museum of Ethnology – The museum has become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign visitors due to the simple exhibits which displays both the aspects of tangible and intangible culture, lifestyle and creativity of Vietnamese ethnic groups.

(Vietnamese Woman Museum will be the alternative on Monday hence Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is closed)

12:30 –  Have lunch at our restaurant
