OVERVIEW:

This day trip from Hanoi to nearby attractions will take you to one of the most famous pottery villages in Vietnam called Bat Trang Ceramic Village and the only folk painting village in Vietnam named Dong Ho. You will also have the chance to visit the cradle of Vietnam’s Buddhism with the most ancient pagodas, Dau Pagoda and But Thap Pagoda. The destinations for the trip of today are located in the outskirt of Hanoi the neighboring Province of Bac Ninh. You will be fascinated by the beauty of rural life in Vietnam.

Bat Trang village: The 500-year-old village of Bat Trang is famous for producing the best pottery in Vietnam and art produced here is shipped all over the world. We’ll see the village’s Temple first then walk down the narrow roads to the house/workshop where we will have a chance to meet one of the famous artists of Bat Trang and see his artworks in all their stages.

But Thap Pagoda and Dau Pagoda are among the finest pagodas in the country’s north and known as Vietnam’s first Buddhist center. Especially, But Thap Pagoda is currently owning a Buddha statue consider as Vietnam’s treasure.

Co Loa Citadel – Located on a beautiful countryside, outskirt of Hanoi, 17km away from Hanoi downtown, Co Loa Citadel is completely different to other historical relics. This relic is considered as the special cultural cradle of both Hanoi City and Vietnam generally. In the past, Co Loa was the capital of Au Lac Kingdom – An Duong Vuong dynasty (3rd century BC) and of Dai Viet kingdom – Ngo Quyen dynasty (10th century).

Hanoi Day Tour Bat Trang Village

8 a.m: Our guide picks you up from hotel or meeting point.

8.45 a.m: Visit Bat Trang ceramic ancient village to explore ancient houses, old oven, communicate with craftsmen, historical relic and learn more local life. You will chance to draw on pottery product and try to do by yourself, really interesting experiences.

10 a.m: Visitting But Thap Pagoda is considered one of the most common attractions near Ha Noi. But Thap Pagoda was built in the 17th century, during the late Le dynasty.

11h15 a.m: Transfer Co Loa Citadel on the way for lunch.

About An Duong Vuong is the title of Thuc Phan, who ruled over the kingdom of Au Lac Viet Nam now aday from 257 to 207 BC. The leader of the Au Viet tribe, he defeated and seized the throne from the last Hung king of the Van Lang  state, and united people, known as The Lac Viet.

13h30 p.m: Visit Co Loa citadel then discover around Citadel and village by bycicle – Co Loa is a vestige and prominent evidence that still exist until now. Co Loa Citadel is regarded as the most ancient citadel with largest size and highest scale, its design is also listed into the most unique citadel in Vietnam’s history of constructing ramparts during the old days.

15 p.m: Going back to Hanoi.

16 p.m: arrived at your hotel.
