Ninh Binh is located in the southernmost part of the Red River Delta. Nature has offered on this land many interesting landscapes, many famous caves like Tam Coc – Bich Dong, Galaxy cave, Tien cave, Hoa Son cave … and the famous Cuc Phuong National Park with a diverse variety of fauna and flora.
The area also has many historical and cultural relics such as Hoa Lu ancient capital, Phat Diem stone church, Non Nuoc Pagoda … All these relics have become tourist attractions domestically and internationally.
Ninh Binh is located 93 km south of Hanoi, where National Highway 1A, National Highway 10, 12A, 12B and North-South Railway run. You can go to Ninh Binh by train or bus from all provinces in the country.

8.00 AM we take 2 hours drive from your hotel, head to South of Hanoi, through Red River Delta to Hoa Lu – the first capital of Vietnam from 968 to 1010.
Upon arrival, we visit the temple of King Dinh Tien Hoang the founder of the Dinh Dynasty (968 – 980) and the temple of King Le Dai Hanh the founder of the Le Dynasty (980 – 1005). Most of the constructions are in ruin by time and wars, recent excavations have found many traces of the old capital.
If time permits after visiting Hoa Lu (for the fit and healthy), take a half-hour walk up one of the surrounding limestone karst hills, the climb is rewarding with spectacular views.
We have lunch at a local restaurant, lunch today is served with local foods in which goat meat is the most popular in all restaurants in town. This tour offers plenty of stops where you wish to take pictures of local villages and the stunning landscape.
After lunch board your private sampan in Tam Coc or Trang An, both of them are similar please consult your guide to make a decision. As the boat gently slices through the water, notice the enormous limestone karsts jutting out from the green rice fields giving rise to another name, ‘Halong on Land’.
Should you feel adventurous climb up to Bich Dong Pagoda on nearby Ngu Nhac Mountain, dating to 1428 and comprising three structures: Ha, Trung, and Thuong Pagodas, in ascending order. Following its back by sampan to Tam Coc town where you will spend the night.

After breakfast at the hotel we depart to Van Long Nature Reserve for a 2 hours boat trip. The reserve is located in the northeast of Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province. Covering an area of nearly 3,000 ha, Van Long is the largest wetland nature reserve in the North of Vietnam, Van Long has an ecosystem extremely rich and unique. It is the habitat of many flora and fauna, is home to many species of fish, bird, and animal, including langur which can be seen occasionally early morning or late afternoon.
After Van Long, we will take half an hour drive to Cuc Phuong National Park which was the first national park of Vietnam, established in 1962 by Ho Chi Minh President in raising awareness of importance and protection of nature.
On arrival at the Cuc Phuong National Park, firstly we should visit Visitors Center to get an entire introduction about the value of fauna and flora of the Park as well as its unique environment. Then we will take 10 mins walk to visit Endangered Primate Rescue Center which founded by Tino a German biologist since 1994 for the purpose of care, rescues the rare primates of Vietnam, studied the ecological characteristics and returns them back to the natural habitat.
The Endangered Primate Rescue Center is not only placed on conservation and scientific research but also the place for nature lovers observe the activities, unique looks of each primate and collect useful knowledge.
Have a simple, local style Vietnamese lunch at the National Park Headquarters. After lunch, we drive to core zone of the park for short trekking. There are dozens of nature trails available from the avid to the recreational hiker. In the afternoon spend time walking into the center of the Park’s forest to learn more about the flora and fauna of Vietnam. In the afternoon drive back 3- hours to Hanoi.
